Tipping guide in Indonesia

How much would you tip a tour guide who gives you good service in Indonesia?

Last week I had 17 Singaporean tourists who stayed at Hilton. So judging from the hotel their chose, they're not poor people. But at the end of the tour (day 5, as they took 5D4N tour) I only got 500k rupiah whereas they gave compliment about my service, saying that they were all very satisfied with our very organized tour program, and they also emailed my boss saying that they were all very pleased with my service & would certainly recommend our travel agency to their friends & family.

Is Rp 500k too little for my tips (5-day tour, 12 hours a day)? How much do you think I should get if they're really satisfied with my job?

thanks

Have you tried visiting this site http://www.yourafricansafari.com ? I found a few travel tours for indonesia there. Plus they have reviews which I believe very useful in comparing prices and services.

Rp. 500.000,- is a fair tip for a tour guide considering that a maid's monthly salary is about that range for starters.
